Multi-Day Spinning Classes
I'm teaching a couple of multi-day learn-to-spin classes in Ontario this spring:
Learn to Spin at Neilson Park Creative Centre (course code W25ALTW) 4 days: March 8, 9, 15, 15.$216.96
Beginner Spinning at Haliburton School of Art and Design (course code ARTS 334) 5 days: May 12-16. $494.01
I’d be willing to teach other session also, so f you are interested in a one-week small-group intensive spinning experience, either in Toronto or Haliburton, let me know and we’ll start the planning process!
I’ve been delighted to introduce lots of students to the joys of spinning at my studio in Riverdale, Toronto. If this is something you’ve always wanted to try, get in touch and book a lesson! I keep the atmosphere very relaxed and stress-free so it’s always a positive experience, even for the complete beginner. I provide all the equipment and fibres, and lots of tips and encouragement. You just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! There’s more information on the Spinning Lessons page.
Going to the Dogs!
My dog fur commissions are rolling in! I’ve produced skeins and balls of lovely yarns to make wonderful mementos of beloved four-legged friends. If this is something that you’re considering, check out our Custom Spinning page. I can take commissions and start spinning right away.

Fibre Club #26
The Fibre Club’s 26th subscription series is under way, running from January to March, 2025. This is a way for spinners to try out a range of fibres produced here in Ontario. Each month, for a three-month subscription, we send out packages containing 100 g of ready-to-spin local fibres. There are usually three or four different fibres in a package; some pure and some blends; some natural colours and some dyed; all beautiful! Check out the Fibre Club page for details.
September Fibre Club
At Provenance Yarns and Textiles we care where our products came from. From the home or farm of the animal that produced the fibre to the label on our yarns and garments, every step of the process is known and controlled. This enables us to be certain that the fibre was ethically produced, processed gently using minimal synthetic chemicals, and lovingly crafted into yarns and garments.
Provenance Yarns and Textiles can create beautiful, useful yarn from your own special animal, and we can custom-design a knitted garment or household item to your specifications. We can blend, spin, ply, dye, knit, and finish any natural fibre. Check out the Gallery, and contact us to discuss your special project!
